Ingredients
- 3 Oranges
- 250g Butter
- 250g Sugar
- 6 Eggs, separated
- 150g Soft flour
- 25g Baking powder
- 150g Ground almonds
- 250g Sugar
- 250g Water
- 1 Star anise
- 1 Cinnamon stick
- 3 Cloves
- 50ml Orange juice
- 24 Sliced orange
Instructions
- Boil oranges, drain, quarter & remove seeds, puree - 150g
- Cream butter & sugar. Add yolks 1 by 1
- Add flour, baking powder & almonds
- Add 150ml pulp, whisk whites soft peaks and fold
- Pour into greased baking ring @ 200c - 10min @ 175 40-45min
- Combine sugar, water and spices over medium heat and cook to carmel
- Remove from heat and add orange juice, return to heat until smooth
