Just a place for my old thoughts

I have been light on posting lately because I felt a little weird posting too soon after loosing Cleo. But we have started to heal that part of us and are moving on. Deb is in full swing to find us another Somali kitten so shortly you will be assaulted by cute pictures of little 'Zena'... HEHEHEHE... (Deb has picked the name because technically it is her kitten). I have promised to keep back so that it will bond to her. God knows that I have my hands full with Furrg who believes that we are soul mates. If he is sitting on Deb getting a scratch he will still look at me adoringly. I know that bugs Deb because she feels used and dirty, but hey, he loves me. What can you do about that.|
Well my Birthday month is in its final stages. I have been going pretty hard on the indulgence stakes with the food, wine and beer flowing in equal quantities. I am SERIOUSLY going to have to think about a diet next month.
On the toy front I got a media center installed in the car which has Radio, DVD, Bluetooth, GPS and even a TV (which doesn't work very well). It is pretty cool and was tested out on our trip down to Byron Bay over the weekend.
It was pretty cool. A little Balinese inspired bungalow with a spa and an outside shower. Very cute. Unfortunately I am fighting off the remains of a cold but it was great fun. I think I could drink any more champagne after the last three days. And the food down there was pretty amazing as well. We went to a restaurant called Dish one night and just had tapas and drinks in the bar. It was made extra special because we grabbed one of the raised sofa beds and just sat back and lounged for the evening eating awesome food and great drinks. Watching the beautiful people wander in was fun as well. And playing 'Recognise the wine' from their huge display was a great way to kill the evening.
On the home front the cupboards are painted and finished so this weekend will see us get a load of boxes unpacked into them. From there we just need a unit for the dining room to take all the glassware and crockery and we are about done. We spotted a nice piece down at Capalaba when I was getting my car stereo installed which might turn out to be the idea item to finish off. More wooden furniture though which I am sure will give any removalist a hernia in the future.
Oh, and JT and Jason have purchased the most gienormous TV and entertainment system. It rocks! I had the pleasure and joy of helping them get it all cabled up and working. And it works nice.
Well, now less than a week until my Burfaday month runs out. I guess then I will have to face the fact that I am 36 and start looking after myself.
Take care till then.

It is with a heavy heart that I write that Ms Cleo Cat is no longer with us. We made the most painfully difficult decision last night to have her put to sleep.|
You would know from our other posts that Cleo had been battling a tumor for the last three months but had it most likely for the last year.
Her quality of life had fallen away to the point that she was struggling for breath and could only move between the back balcony and her food bowl. It was time to ease her pain.
She will alway be a part of our lives and has left a deep gap that will take much time to repair. We will miss the Squizzycat and all her autistic tendancies.
She'll live forever in our memories.

I have discovered LOLCAT. Apparently it is a fad in which you take cute pictures of animals (mainly cats) and put titles using a strange sort of pidgin english.|
i can has cheezburger is one of the main sites for these photos. I found myself transfixed as I browsed through the 90 or so pages of lolcat images.
So, not to be outdone...

You can tell when there has been a BBQ at my place because the fridge is just as full as before hand but now it contains coleslaw, salad and cold cooked meat. My idea of perfection really.|
So ended the BBQ at my place for Father's Day. It was great to get everyone over and to be able to thank Wayne again for the work he put in. Dad even caught him checking out his handywork so cheers to Dad and cheers to Wayne.
The Dance Mat did get a workout before lunch with Wayne, Nathan and Brendan giving it a go. They had the disadvantage of not running through all the 'lession' levels so what we saw as a dance combo they saw as a random attempt to make their brains shut down and feet freeze up.
Not to be outdone they teamed up for a group Mat Slap and got through the level in no time at all.
After JT had been over the previous week for dinner she had said that she would like a Mat as well. So we gave her one a an early birthday present because we will be away later in the month. I got an SMS message later that night that she had blitzed a Mexican Techo song on maniac level. Not a bad effort.
All up a very nice day seeing everyone.
