My boss Antonio, has for some time, been trying to sucker Deb and I into playing an online game called 'World of Warcraft'.

In an attempt to sucker us in he has even invited us around for dinner and then 'suggested' that we play for a while to see what we think.

In a final ditch effort he brought me a copy for my Birthday. Now, I must confess that it wasn't that I didn't want to play it was that I knew I would never be able to stop once I did.

And that is exactly what happened...

I arrived home Friday night and played until 3am. Saturday we had to take our cat to the vet then it was home to play for another 6 hours. Sunday was a short shopping trip to get Deb new glasses (They look very cool) and to buy her a dedicated copy. Then back to play until 7pm, eat some dinner, and then back into it until 11pm.

We are addicts!!! On the plus side Deb is studying Tailoring as a skill in the game and is making me some very nice shirts. I think I look pretty cool in red (;^))

One of the kids in my third grade class is similarly obsessed with this game. He talks about the "real live people who play" -- maybe you'll come across him!

Half-way through my Birthday month!!!

The last week back at work was way harder than I thought it should be and I am now over half way through my Birthday month.

I think I have just about pushed the gift front at far as it will go but I have one more thing coming. It is a little box that allows you to use the internet to make telephone calls. It also allows you to use your existing telephone handset which is pretty cool.

The interesting thing is that the box has to live in the study with the broadband connection. This means that the main telephone has to be in there as well. So...we currently have two telephone handsets, one in the kitchen and one in the bedroom. The new setup will most likely mean that the one in the bedroom will have to move to the kitchen. The upside of all this...if Deb doesn't read this post first, is that we will shortly be buying a new phone with three handsets (Deb doesn't know this bit). can extended your birthday just have to go about it the right way.

Work has been pretty tough. I applied for a more senior role and have been asked to produce a 1 hour presentation outlining the issues I see in the group and how I will fix them. It took quite a lot of research and when I got to the end I realised that I really didn't want the job. So I now have to call my Director on Monday and tell him that I am withdrawing my application.

I have also had to get a book read for the YLT program which is full of so much American shmultz that it is a really tough read. Sometimes I wish I had Deb's abiility to devour a book in a day.

The weather was finally good enough today for a quick outing in my bike, which I really enjoyed. Deb took a run and covered the same amount of distance as I am feeling a little guilty.

We did get a little gardening done this afternoon and fixed the Cat stand which now has two carpet bandaides covering over the old ripped areas. Looks quite cute actually.

Anyway...back to my Birthday month.

WooHoo!!! It arrived...Deb can kiss me goodbye tonight because I am going to be in geek heaven for the evening.

Way cool...

The stay at the ccoast has been wonderful. Last night Pete and Jen came back from camping. Serena had shown us Pete's birthday present, while they were away, which was this rather intricate marble race game. It involves 23 feet of plastic track suspended on little threads from a central tower. We kept joking because the box said ages 6 and up. Hell, it took four adults almost an hour to get one successful run from top to bottom. The other cool aspect is that it glows in the dark...sad but cool.

Today we headed down to Maroochydore to pickup our hire car, and second part of my birthday, which is a covertable Astra. Verry cool, we spent the day driving around with the top down.

Then back to Coolum for a coffee and some very unneeded cake. (How much am I going to weigh at hte end of this week).

Another very nice day...

I can't believe you guys gave into temptation and put it together. Looks very impressive though!

It tastes so good...

A quiet start to the day with promises not eat too much. I'm afraid that Serena had embedded the idea that she had a jumbo packet of bacon in the fridge so bacon and eggs followed shortly.

I did work it off with a round of frisbee golf on the way to the beach which was good fun. We then bid JT and Jason goodbye and took it easy on the balcony for a while.

We then headed to the local markets to find a bucket of strawberries for $4.00 and a rather cool toy for my nephews.

Then a light lunch on on the deck washed down with a little white wine. I actually had no idea how easy chocolate sauce is to make. Take 100g of finest Haighs pepermint chocolate and melt it with a little thickened cream in the microwave oven. Eat with strawberries. Yuuummmmyyyy!!!!

I am FINALLY calm. Oh I love coming to this place...

(DJ the almost calm...)

What is it about Serena's place that makes you so happy just to be. I keep finding that a few days up here leaves me feeling so very very energised.

Work has been full on lately with the YLT program and just trying to coach my staff. Friday was a complete shocker that left me wound so very tight that I am only just starting to find some inner calm.

We went to lunch at Spirit House today and it was as awesome as it has always been. The food was great and I think JT & Jason enjoyed it. Deb and I kept sighing over and over. It was really hard to control myself, I was just starting to find that inner peace that the coast always gives us.

I guess this is as good a time again to be wondering if I should be looking at moving to Brisbane. The YLT is pretty amazing though and something that I don't want to miss.

Maybe in a years time it may be the right thing to do.

Oh, I love this place...

My Happy Birthday Month

(The birthday boy)

Some years ago I started the tradition of the birthday month. This simply involves treating every day of the month of your birth date as if it is your birthday.

So far my Birthday Month is going very well. I got a new bike which is huge fun to ride. I'm going to have to toughen my bum though. I couldn't walk for days after my first ride.

The bestest part so far is that I am currently in Brisbane on the north coast staying at Serena's place. We came in last night and had a great nite sitting out on the balcony just talking and drinking wine until the wee hours of the morning. It was an excellent way to change gears.

Anyway, I just wanted tol start the month with a post. I'll write more and post photos as they come.

Till later...
