Just a place for my old thoughts

Boy, am I a sad little puppy

In putting JT's wedding video together I got well and truly sick of the sound track to 'Love Actually'...actually I have the movie on disk and I really never want to hear it again.

I did use a song by Jesse McCartney that I heard and quite liked. It was originally going to be a version of Pachelbel's Canon by a band called Bond. It was very cool but had this weird bit in the middle that just didn't seem to work properly. So I ended up using the Beautiful Soul song that turned out quite well.

The sad bit is that I heard a song by...Shania Twain...called 'When you kiss me' and I really liked it. I liked it enough that it was on the closing credits for quite a while until Deb told me I would be killed if I left Shania on the video. So it was pulled for the Sugababes song instead.

I guess we all have songs that we love but don't tell people about. I have even been known to pay out on a song and then, later, secretly, listen to it on my MP3 player. The hardest part is not giving yourself away by starting to tap your foot.

Anyway, I kept my promise and Shania Twain didn't turn up on JT's video...I guess I'll just have to listen to it all alone once Deb has gone to bed.

What's your musical vice?

DJ, the video is absolutely perfect. You couldn't have done a better job.

Just got my hands on a copy of the wedding video today. Will be watching it tonight and can't wait.
Musical vice (at the moment) would have to be the sountrack from About a Boy by Badly Drawn Boy.

Wayne, so what did you think of the video?

My musical vice at the moment, as sad as it is to admit, is still the sound track from 'Love Actually'. *sigh*

Don't much go for love songs at all...my vices are Collective Soul and Audioslave. Am secretly hoping to someday carry Chris Cornnell's love child, though.

Ok, so I thought this was cool. On the South Park website you can create your own South Park character. Guess which one of the two characters below is me?
ps: Deb designed her own character so I get off the hook for putting her in glasses!!!

Just a quick note to say that I have FINALLY finished JT's wedding DVD. I am pretty pleased with how it turned out even if some of the video was not as great a quality as I wanted. I really need two cameras when trying to shoot a wedding.

Anyway...

I asked JT if I could bring the video up with me to Brisbane in September and she actually agreed. To be honest I couldn't be that cruel so I have sent them off today in an ExpressPost bag. JT, if you are reading this you can expect three copies to be delivered tomorrow.

Hope you like it...

It's been a while

It has been a flat out month so far. I went away to my first YLT conference last week and it was awesome. We did a mixture of management theory, personal development and team building exercises. I am in a group called the 'Hedgehogs', after a particular management theory.

It was pretty exhausting with Thursday being a 13 hour day. We started at 6:30am and finished at 7:30pm. Having said that it was so cool that I was still buzzing at 2:30am the next day when I finally went to sleep. (Needless to say it involved quite a few beers up until that point.)

I woke up at 7:15am in a panic because I didn't know when my next session was. Luckily the first session didn't start until 8:00am so I had time for a shower, a bacon sandwich and a Panadol!!! Go Me!!!

When I got back we spent the weekend in the garden. This was a good thing because firstly it was a mess from neglect all winter, secondly it was the first nice weather we have had for a while and thirdly I could be alone with my thoughts (Ed: hey, weeding right next to you!)

Anyway, it has been pretty full on all week since getting back to work. The other people on the YLT seem to have boundless amounts of energy and make me feel like a complete sloth.

It's strange, I am working harder than I have in ages but I feel really positive about it. I guess the lobotomy is working out nicely. (;^))
