Just a place for my old thoughts

What, is that it?

(DJ the back at work.)

Well, it was a pretty good weekend. I took Friday off in lieu of the time spent relocating buildings. I sort of had ideas of going to see Batman Begins in Gold Class but Deb talked me into going down to Mornington Peninsula for lunch.

We ended up at T'Gallant for lunch which has a small but rather awesome lunch menu. On such a cold day outside the restaurant had a fire, Shiraz and really great food.

From there it was home to relax. My major pass time during the weekend seemed to be passing out in the lounge by the fire. Deb was trying to ask me questions about a computer game that we were playing but I kept slipping into that wonderful doze that only comes in a warm room, with a tummy full of dinner and a bottle of red wine. How very sweet.

Your 'pass time' would be more pleasurable for the rest of us if you kept your furry tummy full of dinner under wraps, instead of lying there upside the couch like your cat, paws in the air.

Food glorious food

A few months ago Deb had said she wanted a surprise for her birthday, so it was very timely when Serena called to say she would love to be able to join us for Deb's birthday dinner.

It was great to have Serena in the car as I pulled up to pickup Deb. She had no idea at all and yelped when she saw Serena who was hiding under a coat in the back seat. SURPRISE!!!

Well Serena headed home early this morning and it was great to see her. Last night Serena did these wonderful lanb racks which I am going to have to get the recipe for.

I'll leave it up to Deb to tell you all what she ate for dinner at her birthday but needless to say it was all wonderful.

Anyway, here is a rather dark but none the less moody image from Deb's dinner.

It's official

Well, the promotions came through at work today and it is now official. I have got a promotion from Manager to Senior Manager.

I feel a little embarrassed by the whole thing but it is still great recognition.

Good on you Bro.

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to You...

All together now!!!

Happy Birthday to Deb, happy birthday to Deb, happy birthday to Deb, happy birthday to Deb. Hip hip hooray!

Yes, as always happens in the cold darkness of winter my beautiful Deb celebrates another turn of the planet.

Deb got this cool metal bookmark from Jan, a necklace from her Mum and earrings from me. This does mark the start of her Birthday Month so I figure there will be other stuff as well.

Hip Hip Hooray!!!

Does this feel weird to you???

Hey, sitting here on Saturday and I'm not at work. How sweet is that? After weeks of killing myself we are into our brand new beautiful building and all is right in the world.

We had Lucette and Shane stay with us last night which was very cool. It was awesome just to be able to catch up so we really appreciate that they put us on their itinerary.

Anyway, I now have time to get back to working on JT's video which, at this rate, may turn into a Christmas gift.

Oh, and speaking of JT she and Jason have entered the space age and are now online. Cool!!!

Or perhaps a September birthday present?!?!?

I'm working on it, really I am.

Still here

Well I have to say, at risk of being overly cocky, that the move is going very well really. So far we are running to schedule and I am at risk of actually being able to go home in an hour or so.

I have to be back at 7:00am so I can't say that I am really getting the full break that you may be hoping. In any case my little piece of home is looking pretty good.

Anyway, the first snap of my new desk. It 'aint much but it is home.

Guess what I've been doing

(DJ 'the rarely home')

We are on the final straight with the move to Freshwater starting tommorrow at 5:00pm. I simply cannot wait to get moved into our new building. The days seem to go forever and there is always the 'back of your mind' worry that we have missed something. Bare in mind that the move is so complex that no one person would ever be able to get across it all.

Anway, one last pic to show you that we are home and the lights are on. Talk to you all soon!!!

One week to go
Saturday, 4 June 2005 3:45 pm

We are only one week away from moving to Freshwater Place and I cannot WAIT!!! It has been a long slog for everyone involved but the end is in sight.

We had a huge drinks night in the foyer of the building last night and it was awesome. It had to end at 8:30pm so that they could put the floor protection back in abd keep working on the site. In any case it was a lot of fun. I also got over to Fidel's which is a cigar bar in the Crown Casino, rather expensive but given the week that we had it was really worth it.

I found out today that the red wine that got spilt had apparently stained the limestone tiles in the foyer of the building. Considering that the space is SUPPOSED to be used for drinks nights it makes for an interesting choice in floor materials.

Wayne has been pretty quiet on the web design front but JT has just purchased her own computer this very weekend so we are really looking forward to seeing her online.

I am off to bake a lasagne with Deb. I am SOOOO looking forward to fresh homemade pasta and slow-baked meat sauce: YUMMY.
