Just a place for my old thoughts

To sleep in my own bed
Saturday, 23 April 2005 8:49 am

Oh it feels so very very good to be home. Mr Furrgus is very happy to see me and spent most of the evening insisting on having his belly rubbed.

I still have hours of email to work through, which I am going to save for Monday, but for the moment it is sweet to be sleeping in my own bed again.

I have added some more photos of JT's Wedding to the Photo Album so take a look. I am now off to buy extra memory and hard disk for my computer so that I can work with all four hours of video from JT's wedding.

I am REALLY looking forward to starting work on editing it. As I get bits cut together I might post them up here for you to have a look at.

Till then...don't forget about the Show & Tell section.

I wanna go home

(DJ the Homesick)

I just wanted to make a very quick post to let you know that I am currently trapped in Sydney on business and very much missing my beautiful wife, furry pussycat and my own bed.

To keep you all going until I get back I have posted a few photos from JT's Wedding. Check them out. When I get back I'll post up some more.

p.s: Lan, thanks for the show and tell...188cm???

'isle'? You kill me.

Also, your pussycat had mouse for lunch. And the other pussycat says she doesn't care if you don't come home, since she didn't rate a mention.

You're just jealous because Blaine's taller than you.

We're off to see the Wedding...the wonderful wedding of...

Yes, one more sleep and we jet off to beautiful Brisvegas for the wedding of the century. I'll tell ya' Chuck and Camel Face had nothing on this little shin dig.

Actually JT has asked me to be MC so I need to be on my best behaviour. Personally I just think it was a calculated attempt to keep me away from the bar tab. I'll tell ya' it just isn't fair.

Anyway, I have to run and start packing. We fly out tomorrow night and I have no idea what I am going to need.

Oooohhhhhwwwwwwooooo....we can't wait!

I've been busy...really I have.

Hello all and welcome to the occasionally updated world of ALVERS.INFO. I am sorry about the infrequent posting of late but I have been butt to the boards trying to keep up with everything that is happening at work.

I have finished my YLT application and sent it off for review. This year we were asked to keep our answers down to 150 words each so it made it quite interesting trying to get a point across without losing some of the flavour of the story. Anyway, it's done so I don't have to worry about it for another year.

The move to Freshwater Place has kicked into high gear with less than 10 weeks to go. Needless to say I am spending as much of my time trying to keep my staff from burning out as I am actually trying to do anything. In any case it is going to be awesome to finally get there.

On the home front Deb and I are really excited about JT's wedding in only a few short days. We took me shopping yesterday for new trousers and a sports coat. I'm afraid that all this good living had rendered my previous slacks a little snug.

I will actually be in Sydney for the whole of next week, after I come back from the wedding, so it is going to be pretty hard to get everything done on time. I suppose that only time will tell.

Now for the interesting stuff. I have been thinking about a way for you all to be able to post to this site as well. Deb and I love hearing from you, and can pick the regulars from the hit log, but we would really like to see photos and stories from you as well. To this end I have set up a 'Show & Tell' section where you can post a photo and comments. We would LOVE to see what you have been doing. Alanna, we would love to see the Canadian cousins!

So, over to you all...

He still doesn't have a haircut, but I'm working on it.

Great idea with the Show and Tell section!!! Is it possible to have more than one photo in each posting?

Sunday, 10 April 2005 8:12 pm

Interestingly enough after I finished the whole thing I then thought of multiple images as well. At the moment it insn't possible but you can link out to another picture on a different site if you use a little inline html.

Oh, and Wayne, did you get a new digital camera? The quality of the shots you have been posting have been really great lately.

Monday, 11 April 2005 6:35 pm

No new camera bro, unfortunately. Though one is on my 'to buy' list. Don't be fooled, I have to take 30 pics to get 2 decent ones. You can only push 2 m/pixels so far.

Not sure what to call today...

I took today off, on annual leave, because it was Deb's first day back in Melbourne as well as wanting to get a good chunk taken out of my YLT application.

Anyway, because I needed to be connected to the office for the application I ended up fielding as many work based requests as I did actual 'day off' kind of stuff. Not sure what to put this one down as on my time sheet. Oh well...

Anyway, I did get the Easter 2005 photo gallery posted so please check it out and let me know how very jealous you all are.

How can you fight such love...

How can anyone live without the completely single-minded dedication of a pussycat?

Friday, 1 April 2005 2:36 pm

Get a haircut ya hippie!

Friday, 1 April 2005 3:22 pm

Yah, yah. First I get it from Deb, then JT and now you're on my back as well. Gees...
